Description

Volunteers War medal for 1813 Campaigns (issued 1841) bronze.

Instituted by King Ernst August on 11 May 1841 to be awarded for those subjects who in 1813 voluntarily took up arms, also for foreigners who at that time served in the Hanoverian army, and thereby contributed to liberating the country from the French yoke. To include Volunteers service in the Battle of Waterloo, excellent condition with some original lustre.
