A very rare trumpeter’s medal to the most heavily involved and highest casualty rate of the Cavalry during the battle.

 

At the battle, 231 men of the 2nd Life Guards were present, 155 of which were casualties, there were also 4 Trumpeters present, one of which was killed in action,

 

In the Early 1800’s the Army began recruiting young boys to act as Trumpeters, one of the Life Guard’s Trumpeters at Waterloo was only 13, John Edward who sounded the charge of the 1st L.G. was only 19.
