Description
China 1900, bar Relief of Pekin, 5488 Private W. Huddlestone, 2nd Battalion Royal Welch/Welsh Fusiliers, who was severely wounded in action and soon after died of his wounds.
It was reported after the news reached home that he had been severely wounded on 6th August, and was later noted as “deceased” on the medal roll.
A rare instance of the Relief of Pekin bar to the British Army, the R.W.F. being unique in being awarded this honour as a British Army Regiment, being one of few casualties.
