This medal was awarded to Cpl Robertson on 10th August 1950.
William Little Robertson should have seen service in World War 2, the contact marking suggests some additional stars/medals might have been worn with this medal at some time.
As the medal was awarded for 10 years of service, of which at least 5 had to be 5 years of actual service in the Auxiliary Air Force, would put his enlistment to about 1940.
