Air Efficiency Award, GVI, 860360 Leading Aircraftsman G.T. Mason, Royal Auxiliary Air Force.

Officially engraved: “860360 L.A.C. G.T. Mason. A.A.F.” Awarded on 25th November 1956.

Excellent unworn condition. A little unusual as this was awarded post 1953, but still bears the effigy of King George VI, apparently as the medal had to be applied for manually if your qualification period was actually before 1953, you would still receive the GVI obverse if it was applicable.

Mr George Thomas Mason, was a long service member of the Royal Air Force, before joining the Royal Auxiliary Air Force.

Born on 27th November 1903.

He first enlisted in the Royal Air Force circa December 1925.

In 1939, he was working as an Aircraft Fitter, living with his Wife and Mother in Law in Ealing, Middlesex.
