Delhi Durbar Medal 1911, contemporarily engraved: “No 4339 Pte J.W. Milne Manch Rgt.”

John William Milne, was born in Guildford Surrey, circa 1873, and first enlisted for service with the Manchester Regiment during 1894, having been a 21 year old Telegraph Clerk.

Medal entitlement from service papers;
“Queens South Africa, Clasps Defence of Ladysmith, Belfast. King’s South Africa 1901 and 1902
Coronation Durbar Delhi 12.12.1911.
