Distinguished Service Cross, George V GV World War 1 Issue, officially hallmarked as issued. 

 

The DSC or D.S.C.

 

A good WWI period undated George V Cypher DSC, with silver hallmarks to reverse dating production to 1916 “a” in London by Sebastian Garrard (Garrards).

 

Good preserved condition, old storage toning and an old piece of ribbon.

 

The Year 1916 Saw a number of awards of the DSC for gallantry at sea, including about 15 awards for the Battle of Jutland on 31st May to 1st June 1916.

 

First World War awards of the DSC are rare, with less than 2,000 being awarded throughout the war, including about 91 Second Award Clasps and 10 Third Awards.
