India General Service Medal 1908, bar Afghanistan N.W.F. 1919, Lieutenant Thomas Edmund Amos, Military Police, detached from the 2nd Bn 1st Brahmans. 

 

Officially impressed: “CAPT T. E. AMOS. MILY POLICE”

 

Thomas Edmund Amos first entered the Army as a Commissioned 2nd Lieutenant with the 7th Service Battalion South Lancashire Regiment on 3rd April 1915.

 

He entered into France with the 7th S Bn South Lancs Regiment on 19th March 1916, for his war service he is entitled to the BWM and Victory Pair.

 

He was advanced to Lieutenant during October 1918 and then to Captain with the Indian Army Reserve of Officer by April 1919.

 

During the Afghanistan war of 1919, he was on the Army List as a serving Company Officer with the 2nd Battalion, 1st Brahmans.

 

Thomas has a WW1 service file available at the National Archives, under file reference WO339/3885, regarding his World war 1 services as a 2nd Lieutenants of the Prince of Wales Volunteers aka the South Lancashire Regiment.
