India General Service Medal, 1908, bar North West Frontier 1935, 3309235 Private J. Gilmour, Highland Light Infantry.
Near mint toned condition, worth some further research for WW2 service.
Confirmed on the medal roll, for service with 2nd Battalion Highland Light Infantry, H.L.I. during the campaign.
The remarks not that by the time the roll was written at Peshawar in November 1936, he was “Due Home” and the medal was issued on 22nd March 1937.
By the time they were deployed on the “North West Frontier” the 2nd Battalion HLI had spent about 13 years stationed in India.
