King’s Medal for Courage in the Cause of Freedom, Ladies Issue on bow ribbon in matching case of issue.
A rare medal with around 3,200 medals awarded. Instead of the medal for “Service”, the medal for Courage was given out to those who participated in Acts of Courage in furtherance of the interests of the British and Allied Cause during WW2.
These included those in Resistance Groups, those who helped British servicement evade capture risking their own safety or supplying key intelligence
