Description
Companion of the Order of the Bath, C.B. Civil, Breast Badge, hallmarked SG for Garrards, dated ‘g’ 1902.
The usual buckle suspension device has been sometime removed and replaced with a ring, a good earlier quality production piece.
Until 1916, The C.B. has worn on the tunic as a breast badge rather than around the neck, after the switch-over it was easier than altering the suspension ring at a jeweller and rotating it to just unclip the suspension and add a ring instead to wear it as a cravat.
