For his service during the Boer War he also earned the King’s South Africa Medal with 2 bars.
Patrick Kenny was a Lancashire man born in Bolton during 1874, he was 18 when he attested for service with the Loyal North Lancashire Regiment on 17th March 1892, having previously been a member of the 3rd Lancs Fusiliers.
He served overseas in East India from 10th December 1894 until 19th February 1896.
Followed by Ceylon from 20th February 1896 until 10th February 1899.
Served in South Africa from 11th February 1899 until 19th August 1902.
Following 2 more years at home he was discharged having completed his 12 years on 13th March 1904
