Officially engraved: “6386 Pte L. Payne. 1/Gren Gds”

 

Confirmed on the medal roll which remarks at the time of writing he was “Deceased”.

 

The additional roll showing entitlement for the Khedive’s Sudan Medal, with bar Khartoum (for Battle of Omdurman), also writes “Since Deceased”.

 

Ribbon mounted with modern style pin for display/wear.
