Efficiency Medal, GVI, 1st issue, bar Southern Rhodesia, Rifleman A.T. Scott, Rhodesian Army, former Private in the S.A.S.C. during World War 1.

BWM officially impressed: “Pte A.T. Scott. S.A.S.C.”
Efficiency medal officially engraved: “B 8648 RFLMN A.T. SCOTT.”

A rare and unusual issue of the Efficiency Medal, with his clasp during the short lived era of “Southern Rhodesia”.

Only about 230 medals of this type and clasp were issued during the period. (According to the Medal Yearbook’s data)
Very few have surfaced for sale.

With some service records for World War 1.

During World War 1, Mr Scott served as a Mechanic with the South African Service Corps, Motor Transport Section, of the Union Defence Force.

He enlisted on 15th September 1916 and was discharged at his own request on 10th April 1918.

His papers note that his wife at the time was in Lydenburg, Transvaal.
