Waterloo Medal June 18 1815, Private John Dargin, 54th West Norfolk Regiment of Foot, a long serving soldier who fought in South Africa, 5th Xhosa War of 1818-9, then died in India during 1823.

 

Officially impressed with stars as issued: “JOHN DARGIN, 54th REGIMENT FOOT.”

 

Some general wear and edge bruising consistent with his further service.

 

From a very old collection, not offered before for sale.

 

With full tracing through the Muster Rolls confirming his service, about 90 high definition images.

 


Private John Dargin or Darigan was born in Kilbride, King’s County. Known as Tullamoore or Kilbride in Ballycowan, Offaly
