Description

Waterloo Medal 1815, Edward Bradley, 2nd Regt Life Guards.

Contemporarily re-engraved in upright style, all but the original stars and “Guards” renamed.

Does not appear on the medal roll but since at least 1810 up until Waterloo there was a matching Quartermaster Edward Bradley of the 2nd Regiment Life Guards.

The 2nd Regiment Life Guards suffered 3 Officers killed in action at Quatre Bras, Lt Colonel Richard Fitzgerald & both their Quartermasters “Bradley” & “Beamond”, he appears to be the Quartermaster Bradley.

As medals to men killed in action were not issued it is possible the family may have purchased an issued medal in remembrance to be named to him
