Military Medal, World War 1 Issue, George V, unnamed as issued to Foreign Recipients.
An excellent original example of the Military Medal issued completely unnamed around the rim.
Well preserved and toned having taken on a silver patina from years of storage.
A good number of “Honorary” awards of the Military Medal were awarded to non British Soldiers, Sailors and Airmen from France, Belgium, Greece, Russia etc.
Typically for French recipients during the war they would be awarded the ribbon and a signed certificate with promises that the British would send on a medal at a later date.
