Officially embossed on reverse: “58.B.2008. PRIVATE W. TAGGART. 72nd HIGHLANDERS.”

 

Good condition example, barely worn

 

With copy service papers.

 

William Taggart was born in the town of Johnstone, Renfrewshire, Scotland.

 

He was an 18 year old Cooper recently released from the “Royal Renfrew” Militia when he attested for the 58th Brigade at Stirling on 18th November 1878.

 

Campaigns fought: Afghanistan 1880, Egypt 1882”

 

Medals earned: “Afghan Medal, clasp Kandahar, Bronze Star for March to Kandahar (This medal), Egyptian Medal and Khedive’s Bronze Star.”
