QSA roll notes issue of the medal where the initial “A” was crossed out to read “J”, with bars for Orange Free State, Transvaal, Tugela Heights, Relief of Ladysmith and Laing’s Nek.
Also previously served in India with 1st Battalion Dorsets, being issued the India General Service Medal, 2 bars for Punjab Frontier 1897-98 and Tirah 1897-98.
This roll also records initial as “J” but same service number, for further research.
