MM officially impressed: “27742 Pte H. Dodd. 8/R. Lanc. R.” Note slight different of initial, matching gazette entry.
Pair officially impressed: “27742 Pte R.H. Dodd. R. Lanc. R.”

 

Announced July 18th 1918 in the Supplement to the Edinburgh Gazette, which states he was from Ulverston, Lancashire.

 

Richard Henry Dodd was born during 1886 in Ulverston, Lancashire, in a large family, the son of Gun Powder Maker John Dodd, he grew up in Upper Holker, Ulverston.

 

He was baptised in Haverthwaite during 1886.
He died in Haverthwaite, Lancashire on 19th December 1951.
