According to his enlistment papers into the Kimberley Light Horse:

Mr William Green, was born in 1877, and was 25 years old when he enlisted for service with the regiment at Green Point on 9th May 1902.

He was 5 Foot 10 and 160 Lbs, his distinctive marks being a “Strawberry on left leg.”

His next of kin was listed as his mother, Mrs W. Green, of 8 Hawthorne Terraces, Meadows, Nottinghamshire.

 

Back at Home in Nottingham, was his father Mr William Green, a Boiler Fireman at a Colliery and his Mother Elizabeth M. Green.
