Description

Queen’s South Africa Medal, 2 bars, 3195 Private Elijah Cooper, 3rd Bn Norfolk Regiment. A local Militiaman of the West Norfolk Militia, from Tibenham.

 

Officially impressed: “3195 Pte. E. Cooper, Norfolk Regt”

 

Confirmed on the medal roll, also earning a KSA with both clasps for further service.

With copy Militia service records.

 

Elijah Cooper was born in Tibenham, Norfolk.

His parents were both also born in the town of Tibenham.

 

He was embodied in early 1900 as part of the West Norfolk MIlitia that were called up for War Service.

 

He was disembodied upon his return home in 1902, and discharged from the Militia in 1905, time expired.

 

He remained in Tibenham for most of his life, being noted there in the 1911 and later 1939 census.
