Rarely seen QSA to the 20th Hussars.
Joseph Fleming was born in Clones, Monaghan, Ireland, he attested for service with the 7th Hussars on 28th December 1898.
On 22nd September 1899 he was posted for service with the 20th Hussars and sent to India.

At Home, 28th November 1898 – 21st September 1899
India, 22nd September 1899 – 12th December 1901
South Africa, 13th December 1902 – 9th January 1903.
He chose to take his discharge via Purchase on 9th January 1903 whilst still in South Africa.
Like many soldiers he appears to have chosen to remain in South Africa, he died on 5th June 1940 aged 63, living in Mayville, Durban, Natal, South Africa, having worked as a Commercial Accountant.
