Queen’s South Africa Medal, 3 clasps, Cape Colony, Orange Free State, Transvaal, 34791 Gunner William Masson, 87th Howitzer Battery, Royal Field Artillery.

 

Officially impressed: “34791 Gnr: W. Masson. 87th Bty: R.F.A.”

 

Confirmed on the medal, also earning the KSA with both bars for service also in the 87th Battery.

 

Walter also saw service during World War 1 with the RFA and and Royal Engineers. His medal card states he saw service under a few different numbers and units as: WR/348042 Pioneer, Royal Engineers 34791 Gunner, Royal Artillery (his old number) 286335, Royal Engineers Also 170325 Royal Engineers.
