Queen’s South Africa Medal, 2 bars, 13046 Private William Frederick Phillips, Royal Army Medical Corps. With copy discharge papers.

 

Officially impressed: “13046 Pte W.F. Phillips, R.A.M.C.”

Confirmed on the medal roll.

 

Good toned condition and on old ribbon.

 

William Frederick Philips, was born circa 1879 in Camborne, Cornwall.

The son of Coachman William H Phillips (Born 1859 in St Kew, Cornwall) and Eliza J. (Born 1858 Cornwall).

A Valet by trade.

 

He was discharged at Aldershot on 20th March 1901, aged 22, as medically unfit for further service.

 

Conduct: Very Good Special qualifications: Trained Sick Attendant

 

He intended to live at The Stables. Fowey, Cornwall.

He returned home in time for the 1901 Census, being noted at the family home as an “Invalided Soldier”.

They lived at Cobbs Well in Fowey, right by the River Fowey in one of the cottages.
