Queen’s South Africa Medal, 5 bars, Cape Colony, OFS, Transvaal, SA 1901 SA 1902, 7009 Private H. King, 4th Battalion Rifle Brigade. 

 

Officially impressed: “7009 Pte Henry King. Rifle Brigade”

 

Confirmed on the medal roll and papers.

 

With copy Service Papers.

 

Henry King was born in Letheringham, Woodbridge, Suffolk during 1881.

Father was Ephraim King, Hacheston, Suffolk.

 

Aged 18 he joined the Rifle Brigade on 30th October 1899, having worked as a Footman.

 

“Served with the Mounted Infantry over 3 months in South Africa.” According to his service papers section for 

“Granted Mounted Infantry Certificated, 3rd Aug 1905.”
