Stockenstroom or “Stockenstrom” is a district in the Eastern Cape’s “Cacadu” region, the main town of the area is “Seymour” which is now part of the Amathole District Municipality, as of 2011, the main language spoken about 93% of inhabitants is Xhosa.
Confirmed on the medal roll, about 154 medals issued to this unit, with some returned.
The remarks at the beginning of the roll for the regiment reds:
“All the Officers and Men of this Volunteer Squadron served in the Districts of Stockenstrom Catchcart, Tarkastad, Queenstown, Fort Beautort and Adelaide expected where noted.”
