The medal roll with the clasp, noted him as at the time a Lance Corporal, and having previously claimed the QSA with the 2nd Bn Royal Lancs, at that he was likely a Drummer.
Drummer Clarke served during the Boer War with the 2nd Battalion The Kings Own Royal Lancaster Regiment.
